After a four-year hiatus, both the ICAS Academy and the ICAS Air Boss Academy will return this season at separate shows, both in California, and both on the weekend of September 21 – 23. Each academy brings with it access to a vast amount of shared industry knowledge. This “living classroom” experience allows ICAS members to gain the comprehension and tools required to safely and successfully operate an air show in our current industry environment.
The Air Show Academy -- Taking place in alongside the California Capital Airshow, the 2023 ICAS Air Show Academy offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the inner workings of one of the top air shows in the country. From Thursday to Saturday evening, the event's management team will reveal the secrets behind their success to ICAS Academy attendees. Academy participants will get access to a wealth of information, including planning documents, budgets, marketing materials, sponsorship solicitation packages, performer, and concessions contracts, flying schedules, emergency response plans, security measures, timelines, checklists, and other essential documents and resources used to organize, promote, and execute the show. Class size for the 2023 ICAS Air Show Academy will be strictly limited to 30 registrants. Look for registration information regarding this year’s academy later this month.
The ICAS Air Boss Academy -- In collaboration with the MCAS Miramar Air Show, the 2023 ICAS Air Boss Academy offers participants an exclusive learning experience in a real-world setting. Attendees will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge from the show's air boss through participation in dedicated training, pre-show briefings, and monitoring frequencies during the Friday and Saturday air shows. To ensure all of our participants receive individual attention, class size for the 2023 ICAS Air Boss Academy will be strictly limited to 20 registrants.
