U.S. Navy F-18 Tactical Demonstration Squadron Releases 2015 Air Show Schedule

The U.S. Navy’s Tactical Demonstration (Tac Demo) Team today released its 20-stop air show schedule. Beginning March 21 at the Los Angeles County Air Show, the VFA-106 Gladiators and VFA-122 Flying Eagles will crisscross the country to showcase the capabilities of the U.S. Navy’s multirole fighter aircraft. Naval Air Station Lemoore (Calif.)-based VFA-122 will also demonstrate north of the boarder at the Abbotsford International Airshow in British Columbia, Canada.

With scheduled shows from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Lancaster, Calif., over 116 million people in the U.S., Mexico and Canada will be within a 60-mile drive of an air show hosting the Tac Demo Squadron.

The Navy's Tac Demo Teams are made up of actual Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) instructors flying the same jets used to train new students. The primary mission of an FRS is to train newly designated aviators, as well as transition aircrew into the F/A-18A-F Hornet and Super Hornet. The Tactical Demonstration or “TAC Demo” is designed to highlight the mobility, versatility and power of the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet for the citizens who look to the Navy for the defense of freedom. They’re mission is to enhance Navy recruiting and demonstrate the awesome capabilities of Naval Aviation and its aircraft.
