ICAS To Host Air Show/Air Boss Academies in April

January 22nd, 2025

These “living classroom” experiences allow ICAS members to gain the comprehension and tools required to operate an air show safely and successfully in our current industry environment. Both the Air Show and Air Boss Academies will take place in conjunction with the Aviation Nation Air Show, featuring the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, April 3-5 at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

Air Show Academy

The 2025 ICAS Air Show Academy offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the inner workings of one of the top air shows in the country. From Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening, the event's management team will reveal the secrets behind their success to ICAS Academy attendees. Academy participants will get access to a wealth of information, including planning documents, budgets, marketing materials, sponsorship solicitation packages, performer, and concessions contracts, flying schedules, emergency response plans, security measures, timelines, checklists, and other essential documents and resources used to organize, promote, and execute the show.

Class size for the 2025 ICAS Air Show Academy will be strictly limited to 35 registrants. Visit https://airshows.aero/AcadReg/49/1 for additional details or to register for the Academy.

Air Boss Academy

The 2025 ICAS Air Boss Academy offers participants an exclusive learning experience in a real-world setting. Attendees will have the opportunity to acquire knowledge from the show's air boss through participation in dedicated training, pre-show briefings, and monitoring frequencies during the Friday and Saturday air shows.

Attendees will be able to watch and learn how a Recognized Air Boss conducts operations at a complex air show. For prospective air bosses, the air boss academy is the best opportunity to learn from the very best at the highest level of execution. The lessons learned at the Air Boss Academy are applicable to air shows of all shapes and sizes. If you are looking to learn more about what it takes to become an air boss, to receive credit towards the renewal of an existing FAA Letter of Authorization (LoA), or to upgrade the complexity of your LoA, the Air Boss Academy is unmatched in value.

To ensure all our participants receive individual attention, class size for the 2025 ICAS Air Boss Academy will be strictly limited to 15 registrants. Look for registration information regarding this year’s air boss academy in next week’s ICAS Operations Bulletin and more detailed academy information can be found at: https://airshows.aero/GetDoc/4881
