Chambliss To Receive 2024 Bill Barber Award | July 3rd, 2024 |
 Kirby Chambliss was recently named as the recipient of the 2024 Bill Barber Award for Showmanship. The award is presented annually by World Air Show News Magazine to air show performers who exhibit exceptional skill and showmanship. Chambliss, a renowned figure in the aerobatic community, has a decorated history, including five U.S. National Aerobatic Championships, multiple medals from world championships, a decades-long career as an air show performer, and the 2022 Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award.
Chambliss began his career winning his first aerobatic contest and quickly advanced to the top levels of competition. Beyond competitions, Chambliss is famous for his participation in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship and his performances across North America in his Edge 540 with the Red Bull Air Force.
The Bill Barber Award for Showmanship was established in 1986 and recognizes the most entertaining performers in the air show community. The award will be presented during EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in late July. | |
