NOMINATING COMMITTEE NAMES SLATE OF CANDIDATES

September 20th, 2019

In accordance with Section 9, Paragraph B(1) of the ICAS Bylaws, the Board of Directors has named a Nominating Committee consisting of Kevin Walsh (chair), Judy Willey, Dan McLaren, Brenda Kerfoot and Ric Peterson.

In accordance with Section 9 of the Bylaws, that Nominating Committee has recommended that the names of Colin Stephenson (Atlantic Canada Air Show), John Haak (Event Sprout) and Ken Rieder (Redline Airshows) be placed on the ballot for the 2019 ICAS Board of Directors election.

Section 9, Paragraph B(3)(b) of the ICAS Bylaws provides a process for prospective candidates not named as candidates by the ICAS Nominating Committee to have their names added to the Board of Directors election ballot.

Specifically, that paragraph says, “Any designated voting representative for an organization that is a member in good standing of the Association (hereinafter referred to as the ‘petition candidate’) may seek to have his/her name added to the ballot, by presenting to the President of the Association the signatures of twenty (20) members petitioning that the petition candidate’s name be included on the ballot. The Board of Directors shall adopt procedures to allow such petitions to be prepared and submitted by electronic transmission. The petition candidate must submit the twenty (20) signatures at least fifty (50) days prior to the Annual Meeting. Any dispute as to whether an individual’s name shall be included on the ballot shall be exclusively resolved by a committee comprised of the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Directors, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Nominating Committee (the ‘Review Committee’). Upon verification by the President that petition candidates are in good standing, have provided the requisite number of signatures, and have been approved for inclusion on the ballot by the Review Committee in the event of a dispute, the President shall publish on the Association’s website the names of the additional petition candidates no less than forty (40) days before the Annual Meeting.”

This year, the deadline for prospective petition candidates to provide the requisite number of signatures to the ICAS President to be added to the Board of Directors election ballot is Wednesday, October 23 not later than 5:00 p.m. EDT.
