STEM Programming in the Air Show Environment: A Workshop

Thursday, December 12th 2019 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Versailles 3-4

Air shows throughout the United States and Canada are integrating STEM programming into their events, from dedicated, stand-alone high schools affiliated with shows to year-long programming conducted by the air show to STEM exhibits and demonstrations on the weekend of the air show. It’s a natural partnership that helps make the air show more attractive to families while at the same time promoting and highlighting the importance and value of technically-oriented education and training. Building on the success of past STEM sessions at previous ICAS Conventions, this free, three-hour workshop will provide case histories, how-to-type guidance and information, and panel discussions designed to share best practices, identify resources and answer questions. Whether you have a specific needs or a general interest, come learn what the air show community is already doing to promote and support STEM initiatives and how that effort is likely to expand during the next several years. (This session has been made possible by the generous support of SUN ‘n FUN and the Aerospace Center for Excellence.)
